Who we are
The National Association of Unmanned Surveillance Technology (NAUST) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) scientific organization dedicated to advancing the ethical and effective use of unmanned and autonomous surveillance technologies for the prevention of loss of life and property caused by man-made or natural disasters.
NAUST addresses a new dimension of public safety, with a particular focus on wildfire prevention and the protection of public gatherings.
New scientific advancements—particularly in artificial intelligence, imaging, and data analysis—are developed through interdisciplinary collaboration and shared through periodic short courses and conferences hosted by the University of Miami.
NAUST’s primary mission is to educate and inform public officials and policymakers about the latest advancements in artificial intelligence, sensing, imaging, and aerial surveillance platforms—including drones, tethered microstats, and aerostats. Short courses will offer hands-on, practical training.
NAUST is uniquely positioned, with nationally recognized cross-disciplinary experts, to drive the development of next-generation platforms and outdoor surveillance technologies. Existing "Watchover" systems will be enhanced to enable earlier detection and prevention of both natural and man-made disasters.
